Symposium on Biomedical Polymers and Interfaces

The CRC for Polymers together with CSIRO and BioMelbourne Network, hosted a symposium on Biomedical Polymers and Interfaces on the 28th April 2016 at CSIRO Manufacturing in Clayton.

The symposium was opened by CRC CEO Ian Dagley and Program Leader Helmut Thissen and was well attended. The speakers and their topics were:

  • James Lai, University of Washington, USA, Stimuli-responsive reagents for in vitro diagnostics
  • Nico Voelcker, University of South Australia, Targeted drug delivery using porous silicon nanoparticles
  • Shiao-Wen Tsai, Chang-Gung University (Taiwan), The impact of collagen nanofibril texture on cellular responses
  • Richard Evans & Donna Menzies, CSIRO Manufacturing, Prebiotic chemistry inspired polymers for biomedical and material science applications
  • Pat Stayton, University of Washington, USA, Molecular engineering of biologic drug therapies
  • Veronica Glattauer, CSIRO Manufacturing, Chemically defined cell culture substrates for cell therapy applications
  • John Forsythe, Monash University, Photo-responsive polymers for applications in regenerative medicine
  • Peter Kingshott, Swinburne University of Technology, Colloidal crystals as biointerfaces
