Delivering
specialty
polymers to
grow the
Australian
economy |
The
Cooperative
Research
Centre (CRC)
for Polymers
is a joint
venture
between its
participants, incorporated
through
Polymers CRC
Ltd, that
was
established
and is
supported
under the
Australian
Government’s
Cooperative
Research
Centres
Program.
It is
conducting
agreed
research,
commercialisation,
education
and
administration
programs
over a
seven-year
period
ending June
2012. These
programs are
carried out
collaboratively
between the
participating
companies,
the
participating
universities
and
Government
research
laboratories
in
Australia.
Its research
focus is on
developing
‘functional’
(i.e.
responsive
to physical
or
biological
stimuli) and
higher
value-added
specialty
polymers for
emerging
high growth
opportunities.
Its
activities
are creating
research
synergies
between
Australian
polymer
scientists
and
engineers,
and other
areas of
research and
economic
strength.
The
technologies
that it
delivers
will result
in growth in
the
biotechnology,
energy,
mining,
agricultural
and
manufacturing
sectors of
the economy. |
